The popularity of Wonder Woman cosplay at Comic-Con is a message to Hollywood

The popularity of Wonder Woman cosplay at Comic-Con is a message to Hollywood Female heroes and costumers are here to stay Like previous years, the convention center at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 became a hub for cosplayers, with fans from across the world sporting elaborate costumes, celebrating just about every film, TV show, or comic out there. Every Comic-Con, the community seems to champion a specific character, releasing an army of meticulously dressed near-clones across the crowded halls. Last year it was Harley Quinn. This year it was Wonder Woman. The standout costume is often a statement, made en masse, on the state of the comics world. This year, the message was loud and clear: Hollywood must go further with female superheroes. Costumers dressing up as Diana Prince’s alter ego were everywhere during the show, ranging from casual fans wearing Wonder Woman-branded T-shirts to dedicated cosplayers in elaborate costume replicas. 15 Insane Batman Fan Art Costumes We Wish Were Real

15 Insane Batman Fan Art Costumes We Wish Were Real Batman is such an iconic pop culture figure. It is no wonder that Warner Brothers is trying to refocus its DCEU to include more Batman stories. The character has been reinvented so many times throughout his expansive comic book, live-action (both on television and in film), video game and animated career, yet his character never gets stale or feels old. Each take on the character attempts to bring something new to the table. ‘The Walking Dead’: 5 Comic Book Characters We Still Haven’t Seen

‘The Walking Dead’: 5 Comic Book Characters We Still Haven’t Seen Spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead! When The Walking Dead first hit our TV screens in 2010, a lot of fans were paying attention to the similarities between the small-screen adaptation and its comic book source material. These days, it sometimes feels like it’s easier to count all the differences between the two, because there are so many. From storylines happening out of order to entirely new characters being created, AMC’s version of TWD has definitely become its own monster. However, the series creators have shown that they’re not afraid to keep introducing iconic moments and figures that are familiar to comic readers. In the last few episodes alone, we’ve met Negan and Ezekiel, and have been introduced to yet another new survivor colony, Oceanside. There are still several key players from Robert Kirkman’s original books that have yet to make an appearance in the TV series. And in many cases, they cou...

Austin votes to end its youth curfew amid racial bias concerns Texas city becomes second largest in country to drop nighttime ban Police chief changes his mind after reviewing data Austin’s council has voted to end the city’s youth curfew amid concerns that it targets racial minorities and adds to the so-called school-to-prison pipeline. Despite backing the law earlier this year, Brian Manley, police chief in the liberal  Texas  city, changed his mind after reviewing data. “My recommendation is to not move forward with the curfew at this point,” Manley told the city council early on Friday. Manley said that in 14 stops by police of young people in the past three months that involved a curfew infraction, the curfew was not the reason for the initial interaction. “The ordinance did not have any impact on our ability to handle those instances,” he said. The council also heard from several students who argued the curfew needlessly criminalised young peop...
